The Infinity footbridge under construction

These images show the Infinity footbridge, Stockton-on-Tees, under construction

The bridge, which connects Stockton town with the £300 million regeneration of the North Shore District, is currently undergoing proving trials. It is expected to be handed over to client Stockton Borough Council early in 2009, with an official opening ceremony in the summer.

Expedition Engineering is the engineer behind the project and Spence Associates is credited as concept architect despite rows over authorship, as reported previosly in the AJ.

The pictures are presented as a Flickr slideshow. You can click on an image to see the next in the series or select pictures directly using the thumbnail images below. All images are copyright of Expedition Engineering.
