Stride Treglown profits jump
Stride Treglown has announced a 123.6 per cent increase in profits despite operating in what the company described as ‘extremely competitive’ market
According to its latest accounts for the year ending 31 December 2013, the top-ten AJ100 practice has seen profits after tax more than double from £188,525 in 2012 to £421,545.
Turnover increased to £14.2million over the period, edging up from £13.4million in 2012. Operating profit has increased to £530,872 from £295,450 in 2012.
Staff numbers have grown to 240 with the practice’s new office opening in Southampton adding an extra nine to the payroll, including the acquisition of TS Design in September.
Profit growth comes after the company has recently won a number of new projects including the Facilty of Business and Law at the University of the West of England as well as reaching completion on three major education projects; a chancellor’s building for Bath University, a University Technical College in Plymouth and a 492-bed student accommodation scheme in Exeter.
Stride Treglown - which has been judged as the UK’s tenth-largest practice for the second year running - has also embarked on a re-organisation of staff, with technical staff organised into sector specific teams to draw on expertise across the company.
Abroad, the company’s Middle East office is expanding to broaden the rainge of opportunities it is able to pursue.
