Stock Woolstencroft and S333 win Whitechapel planning

Stock Woolstencroft, in collaboration with Amsterdam-based S333, has won detailed planning consent for this £34 million regeneration project in London's Whitechapel.

The project - on a 0.72ha site - will create two new streets and aims to transform the local Watney Green, reconnecting an area that has suffered extensive post-war damage.

The two offices designed a range of new homes for the needs of the local community, ranging from large three-, four-, five- and six-bedroom houses to one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

The new buildings vary in height from four to seven storeys, with a 20-storey landmark tower proposed for a site adjacent to Shadwell Tube Station.

The completion is planned for 2009.
