Spirits still high after CABE refuses backing for Liverpool FC’s new stadium

RyderHKS and Liverpool Football Club have allayed fears that the club’s new stadium might be delayed after CABE refused to back the planning application

RyderHKS and Liverpool Football Club have allayed fears that the club’s new stadium might be delayed after CABE refused to back the planning application.

The design watchdog released its review comments last week, which stated that CABE was ‘unconvinced’ the design ideas had been properly addressed in the architecture.

However, despite CABE’s comments, Liverpool FC and RyderHKS remain upbeat, claiming that each of the concerns raised had already been addressed.

In a club statement, Liverpool said: ‘Close dialogue with Liverpool City Council planning department has been maintained throughout the design development stages – both before and after the submission of the application.

‘The issues raised by CABE have been fully addressed in that dialogue with the council and supplementary information has been submitted to the planning department in response to advice and comments made by CABE.’

It is understood that the proposed new Anfield stadium will be presented to the council’s planning committee at the end of the month.
