SMC's aggressive growth strategy pays dividends

The aggressive expansion of SMC group has continued apace this month, it has emerged.

The firm, which makes no secret of its determination to grow by acquisition, claims that its business is fast taking off.

The company's bosses have claimed that this strategy - which included the extremely unusual move of floating on the stock market - is now paying dividends.

The office has now revealed that it has won a series of schemes in the last month with a total construction cost of more than £100m and fee income in excess of £1m.

These include:

º New Headquarters for Deeley Properties, Coventry;

º 100 Residential Units for Worksharp, Lancaster;

º A mixed-use development, with retail and residential spaces in a conservation area for in Windermere, Cumbria; and

º Another office development in Cumbria.

SMC Group boss Stewart McColl has made no secret of his plans for further expansion - including more acquisitions - in the next 12 months.
