Six vie to transform Bolton's housing stock

The shortlist has been announced for a pivotal council-run project to revitalise Bolton's housing estates.

The Bolton Great Estates urban design competition attracted interest from architects, landscape architects, town planners and urban designers.

The shortlisted practices are: Arup with Outerspace; Ash Sakula Architects; Broadway Malyan; Cole Thompson Anders Architects; Levitt Bernstein Landscape Architecture with Team A Go-Go and Taylor Young.

Gwen Crawford, spokesperson for competition organiser and housing management organisation Bolton at Home, said: 'The jury panel were impressed with both the scope and quality of entries for the [competition].

'We believe that the shortlisted teams represent the best of the entries and we look forward to seeing their ideas at the next stage of the competition.'
