Sheppard Robson starts on site with Madrid flats

Work on a new high-density affordable housing scheme designed by Sheppard Robson has begun on site in an area south of Madrid.

The £3 million project in Carabanchel includes 250 apartments arranged around three courtyards, which provide a protected communal outdoor space.

Sitting next to parkland and a large forest, the 5,500m 2development will be wrapped in a louvered screen to provide an 'environmental and contextual interface'.

The scheme is expected to complete in early 2006.
