Satellite scheme reaches final stage in central London - images

Work has started on the second and final construction phase of Satellite Architects' new mixed-use development off Tottenham Court Road, in central London.

The million-pound project will create a new office space and six flats, varying in size from studios to two-bedroom apartments, on the site in Percy Street.

Planning permission for the scheme, which will feature a wooden-louvre system to provide privacy for the residents, was obtained in the summer last year.

Architect Brendan Mullard said: 'The most interesting aspect of the development is the prefabricated glulam timber at the back of the building.'

The project is expected to be completed by early September.
