RTKL design mammoth Moscow 'gateway'

Designs by the London office of RTKL for a massive new mixed-use development in Moscow are set to start on site.

The 'Metropolis' scheme - which will be prominently sited on Leningradsky Shosse - will aim to be a 'striking new landmark and icon'.

'The project has been designed as a village knitted together by cohesive public spaces, rather than just a collection of buildings,' RTKL associate director Ernesto Zabarte said.

'By combining retail, leisure, entertainment and office components, we have created a civic place that is not only integrated with the local community, but is the heart and lifeblood of it,' he added.
