RSHP lands neat £100m whisky scheme

Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RHSP) has won the £100million competition to design a new distillery and visitor centre for the prestigious Macallan whisky brand

Owned by Edrington, the Speyside facility known as The Macallan, was founded in 1824 and was one of the first in Scotland to be licensed.

Graham Stirk said: ‘We are delighted to be working with The Macallan to realise their vision for the new distillery. This is a rare and fascinating project set within a great parkland estate.

‘Our aim will be to reveal both the mystery of the place and the process, within this dramatic setting.’

Work on the project in north-east of Scotland is scheduled to begin in autumn 2014 with completion planned for spring 2017.
