REID in Birmingham competition success

REID Architecture has been chosen to design a new office headquarters building in Birmingham following a competition victory.

The 1,560m 2development for Calthorpe Estates will provide office space over two levels wrapped around a private, central courtyard.

The scheme, which will sit in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, has been designed as a 'floating box' to both 'enhance the company's public profile' as well as preserving its privacy.

Describing the scheme, a spokesman said: 'The speed of delivery is of the utmost importance, as the client requires the building to be delivered in nine months' time.

'Attention has been paid to creating a comfortable environment with an emphasis on quality and discipline rather than opulence.'
