Reid aims to overhaul Lancaster city centre

Reid Architecture has submitted outline planning for this £100 million scheme that it is hoped will rejuvenate Lancaster city centre.

The firm - which becomes 3DReid in July - has worked up the Canal Corridor North scheme for developer Centros Miller in the Lancashire city.

It is a 4ha mixed-use project which is to be anchored by a 10,000m2 Debenhams department store.

As well as the flagship store, there will be a total of around 30,00m2 of retail space, 150 town houses, workshops and an 800-space car park.

The scheme is scheduled to be completed in 2011.
