Short description of the contract or purchase(s):

The project comprises a new Arts & Innovation Centre in Bangor (Gwynedd). The total cost, including fees, VAT and equipment is estimated at 25 000 000 to 30 000 000. Facilities include Teaching and Learning spaces, Innovation spaces, Theatre & Performance spaces, and Students' Union spaces, including a nightclub / bar together with Student Services facilities.
The following multi-disciplinary professional services are required:
Architect (anticipated to be the contract administrator);
Structural and Civil Engineer;
Mechanical and Electrical Engineer;
Acoustic Consultant;
BREEAM Consultant / Environmental Consultant;
Fire Consultant;
Theatre Consultant;
Planning / Traffic Consultant.

Separate appointments will be made for Project Management Services, for Cost Management Services and for CDM-C Services. The University reserves the right to combine any of these separate services with each other or with the services listed in the PQQ.
A two stage construction traditional procurement process is envisaged.
A Feasibility Report has been completed, including an illustrative design concept.

Additional information:
It is anticipated that tenders will be issued in mid January 2009; that the consultant appointed as a result of this Contract Notice will be appointed in March 2009; that RIBA Stages C/D will be completed in August 2009; that works will commence on site in April 2010; and that works on site will be completed in October 2011.
