Metropolitan workshop's ginger wonderland

Architects from Metropolitan Workshop and a group of schoolchildren have collaborated on a gingerbread advent calendar to raise cash for Everychild charity

The children from Islington, North London worked closely with architects to design a range of festive gingerbread biscuits.

The finished gingerbread creations will be displayed in the Metropolitan Workshop window until the end of the festive season.

Tim Peake, director of Metropolitan Wokshop stated: “Our advent calendar has been so much fun over the last three years, and this time we wanted to do something a little bit different. Architecture is something that you don't really learn about until you have already made the decision to study it at university, so we thought we would
take some of the joy of designing and building straight into the classroom. It is also a wonderful way to raise money.”

The fundraiser generated £1,250 for Everychild.
