Markland Klaschka to face planning committee with Redbridge scheme

Up-and-coming practice Markland Klaschka hopes to get the go-ahead for this four storey, £1.5million apartment block, which will overlook London's North Circular.

The 1,350m 2scheme in Redbridge will create 18 new apartments and will be split into four 'houses' to reflect the scale of the surrounding terraces.

Describing the project, co-founder of the practice Richard Markland said: 'With a limited budget to play with, we decided to concentrate on careful massing and fenestration design to develop an architectural identity for the scheme.'

He added: '[The scheme] is clearly visible from the road cutting and terminates the axis set up by the pedestrian bridge, so the new building has the potential to be a local landmark.'

The development for Liskara Holdings will be clad in red brick and render and is due to go before the council's planning committee next month.
