Markcrow penthouse gets green light

Martin Markcrow Architects has received planning permission for this penthouse apartment above a four-storey building in Wandsworth High Street, London.

Designed with structural engineer Atelier One, the new two-storey flat is to be clad in pre-weathered zinc panels and will be prefabricated off site. The 220m 2penthouse will then be transported to London in five modules, where it will be craned into position in less than three days.

As well as plans to revamp the ground-floor Ferrari showroom, the scheme, in the heart of the Wandsworth Town Conservation Area, will also include some refurbishment work to the facade of the original four-storey 1920s building.

The project is expected to be completed in December 2005.
