MAKE tower for Leeds revealed

MAKE and Carey Jones have released this first image of a £160 million proposal for a 24-storey residential tower in Leeds.

Leeds City Council's executive board gave developer HBG Properties the initial go-ahead for the project last week.

The move will almost certainly kill off MAKE's plans to build a skyscraper, dubbed 'the Kite', on the same site - the home of Leeds International Swimming Pool.

It is understood that the MAKE/Carey Jones scheme, which would result in the demolition of John Poulson's ageing swimming pool, built in 1968, will feature one main tower and four smaller office blocks.

Work is expected to start on site in early 2007.
