Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
The London Borough of Brent (LBB) civic centre project is central to the desire and vision of LBB to establish Wembley as a community focus for Brent. Wembley is part of the largest regeneration area in West London and the civic centre will be the community centrepiece in the heart of a modern development. The civic centre will be the embodiment of the council’s strategic intent for the future of public service provision throughout the borough, allowing creative working with its partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors. It will put the operation of local democracy in a quality setting and accessible to the public. LBB require a Design Team to undertake the design of the civic centre in Wembley. The Design Team will be required to provide the following services: • Architectural design • Building services engineering • Structural engineering • Transport engineering • Landscape architectural • Acoustic engineering • Fire engineering services • Provide a design and all other related services up to R.I.B.A. Stage E (completion of design and specification with sufficient detail for coordination of all components and elements of the project).

Starting: 12.2.2009. Completion: 31.7.2014.

8.9.2008 - 12:00.

All dates and time periods specified in this notice are only provisional and the Contracting Authority reserves the right to change these. If any candidate considers that any information supplied by them is either commercially sensitive or confidential in nature, this should be highlighted and the reasons for its sensitivity as well as the duration of such sensitivity specified. In such cases the relevant material will, in response to request made under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000, to be examined in the light of exemptions for in that Act. The Contracting Authority for the civic centre will be the London Borough of Brent. Candidates who wish to express an interest in this contract must request a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) from the contact in Annex A. The PQQ will contain further details on the required conditions for participation referred to in Section III.2 above. Candidates must note that their completed PQQ’s must be returned to the address stated in the PQQ by no later than midday on Monday 8th September 2008. Appointment will be for the duration of the Civic Centre project including the defects liability period. The appointment may be extended in a series of "extensions" up to 6 months beyond the defects liability period. The fees payable are set out in Appendix 1 (not for publication). The contract shall be made in England and according to English Law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. The contracting authority reserves the right not to make any award and reserves the right to accept all or part of any tender unless the tenderer expressly stipulates otherwise in the tender.
