Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
A new building to house innovation related spin out companies in an incubator arrangement and University knowledge transfer accommodation. The building will be flexibly lettable in a range of unit sizes from 25 m2 to 450 m2 and will also house communal support activities. The building will also have an option to provide underground parking for circa 60 cars. In addition to the design and procurement of the building there will also be an option appraisal / masterplanning exercise undertaken to identify the most advantageous site.

The size of the building is anticipated to be circa 7 000 m2 in a multifloored arrangement with a BREEAM rating of Excellent. The building CAT A budget is in the region of 15,5m and there will be a partial CAT B fit out to some of the building. Work is anticipated to commence on site in 2010. A high level programme will be agreed subject to the appointment of the design team and procurement route.
