Lee/Fitzgerald to rework Gillespie Kidd and Coia's Wadham bookstore

Lee/Fitzgerald Architects has won a competition to refurbish and adapt Gillespie Kidd and Coia’s Grade II-listed music bookshop in Wadham College, Oxford University.

The south-London based practice has been asked to alter the use of the 1971 building to allow it to be transformed into a centre for graduate and postgraduate study.

Lee/Fitzgerald’s proposals include the reorientation of the interior, moving the main entrance to the rear of the building, and upgrading the fabric of the building.

A planning application is expected to be submitted in the next couple of months.
