Latest Olympic stadium designs unveiled

The latest designs of the Olympic main stadium have been revealed. Details, set out in a recent planning application, reveal the full extent of the stadium's layout, massing and scale.

The application shows how the stadium, designed by HOK Sport and Peter Cook, will become even more permeable than first expected, with spectators passing through the external membrane.

The latest designs come just days after it was revealed that the Olympic Delivery Authority is open to offers from potential host cities for the temporary element of the stadium once the London 2012 Games have finished.

Chicago has come out as a frontrunner to secure the 55,000 temporary seats.
