KSS bags Bognor redevelopment - images

These are the designs with which KSS Design Group won the £100 million Bognor Regis town-centre redevelopment competition.

The scheme, which aims to regenerate the Regis and Hothampton sites, will be a mixed-use development, including new residential units and leisure facilities.

The Regis site will act as the new civic core, incorporating county council offices, a citizens' advice bureau, a health centre and a library.

Hothampton will act as the 'leisure heart', and will feature an art centre, a multiplex cinema, a 10-pin bowling centre and a bingo hall.

The competition was staged last April and drew a great deal of local interest, but KSS, along with developer St Modwen Properties, won the public over with its modern approach, openness and mixed provision of the scheme.

The design team will be assisting St Modwen in the progression of the development agreement, and consulting with Arun District Council and other key stakeholders over the next nine months.

A planning application for the entire masterplan is expected to be submitted in late 2007.
