Jestico + Whiles reveals Greenwich housing

Jestico + Whiles has unveiled these designs for a substantial housing project on the Greenwich Peninsula, south London.

The London-based practice will design 207 new houses on the peninsula that will form part of the wider regeneration of the area set out in Terry Farrell’s masterplan.

Backed by developer Mode Homes, Jestico + Whiles will provide a variety of housing types from apartment blocks to three-storey terraced housing.

The scheme will also deliver a ‘coherent’ network of streets, as well as a ‘grand staircase’ that will connect a podium courtyard to the parkside promenade.

According to the practice, the scheme – one of the first to be developed on the peninsula – has to both respond to its current context and ‘anticipate the eventual context’ as the peninsula is developed.
