Irish Architecture Foundation appoints new director

The Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) has announced the appointment of Nathalie Weadick as its new director.

The former deputy director of the London-based Architecture Foundation will now be responsible for promoting the 'vitality and importance of architecture in Ireland.'

Speaking of her new role at the Dublin-based IAF, which has been in existence for 18 months, Weadick said: 'My mission is to create a country where people are empowered and able to relate and debate and influence the built environment.'

Formerly director of the Butler Gallery in Kilkenny and a native of County Wicklow, Weadwick takes up her new position this week.
