Organised by the RIBA’s compeition office, the contest is being backed by the Northwest Regional Development Agency and REMADE – the arm of Lancashire County Council which deals with the reclamation and management of derelict land.

The judges are looking for architect-led, multi-disciplinary design teams.

The first stage will be judged anonymously, and up to six finalist schemes will be invited to develop their design proposals.

Each of the shotlisted competitors will receive an honorarium of £1,500, with the winner scooping £8,000. The deadline for entries is 1 July 2008.
