In pictures: Imperial War North landscaping shortlist

The Imperial War Museum North has released images of the five designs shortlisted for the exterior spaces surrounding the Daniel Libeskind-designed Manchester landmark

The 50-plus entries to the RIBA-run competition have been narrowed down to five, which will go on display anonymously in the Trafford museum until 25 February.

The judging panel will meet in March. It is hoped the winning design will be in place around the museum, which was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize five years ago, by 2011.

The finalists are: London’s KLA, White Arkitekter AB from Sweden, Patel Taylor in London, German practice Topotek 1; and US-based Field Operations.
