Zenith Development Partnership Limited is the property development arm of Mercian Housing Association Limited. The Authority is currently in negotiations with Birmingham City Council to purchase an interest in and thereafter develop a plot of land at Clyde Tower, Birmingham. Once the Authority has procured the demolition of existing structures on the plot of land, the Authority envisages procuring the construction of an iconic building for approximately 60-100 housing units. The anticipated construction cost of the project is 6-10 million GBP and the Authority is now at the stage where it wishes to procure the appointment of an architect to assist in developing first class scheme designs and proposals which maximise the development opportunity and at the same time provide value of money within the Authority’s budgetary constraints. The architect will also be required to assist and work with the Authority in developing scheme designs and specifications. The Authority therefore seeks expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified architects who are experienced in acting in the capacity of and providing all architectural services pursuant to standard forms of contract and experienced in partnered methods of procurement in relation to affordable housing schemes, working collaboratively with local residents and tenants and developing homes for rent and/or sale. The Authority wishes to construct units that attain a level 4/5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and architects are expected to have experience in achieving this. The duration of the appointment with the selected architect is yet to be confirmed but it is intended that it will be no more than 2 years.
