HOK reveals latest Maze prison stadium plans

HOK Sport has revealed its latest images of its new ‘multi-sport’ stadium on the Maze prison site in Northern Ireland.

The stadium will host rugby, football and Gaelic sports, and the practice claims the stadium design brings together a range of different requirements in a ‘cohesive whole’.

Demolition of the notorious prison near Lisburn, which housed loyalist and republican paramilitaries before it was closed in 2000, was completed earlier this year.

HOK Sport senior principal John Barrow, said: ‘Our vision is for a world class stadium for world class supporters – the people of Northern Ireland.

‘This will be a stadium where every seat in the house will be the best seat, and one which will be an exemplar for comfort, safety, accessibility and sustainability.’
