Haworth Tompkins director joins Greenwich University

Steve Tompkins, one half of Stirling Prize-shortlisted Haworth Tompkins, has joined the University of Greenwich as a visiting professor.

Richard Hayward, head of the university's school of architecture and construction, described Haworth Tompkins as 'cutting edge' and responsible for 'designing and making some of the best new buildings in the country'.

Tompkins said: 'The diversity of the Greenwich school, as well as the unusually rich mix of full-time and part-time students, promises to be an interesting and lively environment to teach in.

'I’m very much looking forward to contributing to the debate.'

Haworth Tompkins' Young Vic theatre in London (pictured) was runner-up in the 2007 Stirling Prize.
