German architects agree to house gigolos - images

A maverick group of German architects has taken on one of the world's most controversial schemes.

Berlin-based Grupposenza has been commissioned by infamous high-class madam Heidi Fleiss to design the first legal brothel to be staffed by men.

The project will see the architects draw up plans for Heidi's Stud Farm, in the town of Crystal, Nevada, one hour's drive from Las Vegas.

The project is set to be documented by TV channel HBO, which will broadcast the development of the emblematic structure in the middle of the American desert.

Grupposenza describes itself as a 'post-geographical architectural think tank'. Founded in Berlin in 2004 as an open network, its stated aim is to 'investigate in the fields of urbanism, architecture, and contemporary society, with a special focus on the underlying rules that structure the three-dimensional framework of everyday life'.
