Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
Bristol City Council intend to replace all its current construction related consultants 'Standing Lists' with a new four year framework contract that includes twelve different 'Lots'. The Framework Contract will be with a number of different consultants experienced in carrying out; design, cost management, surveying, project management, highways, and other specialist consultancy work to commercial properties, offices, sheltered accommodations, civic amenities, crematoria, leisure facilities, highways, bridges, schools and social housing projects.

Some of the Lot's will be for specialist consultants to undertake cost management advice for long-term construction partnering contracts using 'Open Book' accounts, other consultants will be needed to undertake level 3 asbestos surveyors, buy and sell commercial and domestic properties, feasibility reports for community land trust developments, site investigations and geological reports.

The Council will also require mechanical, electrical and lift consultants for designs the replace services from within multi-storey blocks of flats, sheltered accommodation and commercial buildings.

Other types of consultants required include; architects, building surveyors, quantity surveyors, landscape designers, asbestos consultants, structural engineers, clerk of works, planning & development consultants, highway consultants and a few multi-disciplinary practices.

Total quantity or scope:
This Framework Contract will be with a number of different construction related consultants. For further details see section 14 of the Information Pack. Within the duration of the contract it is possible that the arrangement may be extended to include other public bodies and social landlords, such as members of Westworks, within Bristol and the South-West region of England.

In respect of other organisations such as members of Westworks, Bristol City Council will be acting as a central purchasing body. The consultant can choose to apply for up to a maximum of three consecutive value bands from within each lot and any number of different Lot's of work as indicated within the Pre Qualifying Questionnaire.
