TwistInArchitecture unwraps glazed rooftop extension

TwistInArchitecture has completed the renovation of a four-storey building in Camberwell, south London

The Clerkenwell-based practice has renovated a building that has laid derelict for more than 35 years. The £360,000 project features a two bedroom home sat above a restaurant and café on the ground floor.

A large dining and kitchen space occupies the first floor. Above it is a double height lounge area on the second floor with a master bathroom in the rooftop extension.

Rear-facing glazing, which includes a 3 meter x 3.2 meter panel installed in the master bathroom, allows natural light into the building.

‘We’re delighted to have delivered this project, which not only brings a needed social meeting point to the local community, but also allows us to show how you can merge different looks and influences into something beautiful. We’re particularly pleased with the contemporary finish at the back of building, and the massive glass pane giving such fantastic views of London from the bathroom.’
