[FIRST LOOK +DATA] Penoyre & Prasad’s Ruskin College in Headington, Oxford has officially opened
The OId Street-based practice has added an academic building and refurbished the existing Rookery Building as part of a £17million development to ‘modernise and rationalise’ the college’s facilities onto a single site at Old Headington.
Named after former Prime Minster James Callaghan, the new building houses a 40,000 volume library, facilities for conferences, additional classrooms, offices and a public café.
Next to the library, the Grade ll listed Rookery Building has been made fully accessible, through the addition of a lift, and has had several of its period details, including several 17th century fireplaces and an 18th century staircase, restored.
