Nicolas Pople unveils cross-laminated timber chapel
Nicolas Pople Architect has completed the £1.4 million renovation and extension of Temple Lodge in Hammersmith, London
Constructed from prefabricated cross-laminated timber panels with cork insulation, the chapel is clad with self coloured render that aims to ‘compliment’ the original Grade II listed house.
The chapel with its quartz zinc roof seats a congregation of 80 and contains a meeting space, kitchen and toilet facilities.
A restaurant, which shares the building, has also been renovated, while an attic bedroom with en-suite shower room has been added to the Temple Lodge Club.
