McGarry-Moon unwraps Northern Irish barn conversion

  • Comment

McGarry-Moon Architects has entered this refurbishment and extension to a stone barn in Broughshane, into this year’s AJ Small Projects Awards

The Coleraine-based architect has inserted a contemporary house into an existing non-listed stone barn that has been preserved and retained.

Two bedrooms and a bathroom sit within the stone walls of the barn on the lower floor with an open plan kitchen and living space above. The upper floor is supported in a steel frame that cantilevers out over the stone walls of the barn.
