Helen Lucas unwraps highland home

Helen Lucas Architects has completed this ‘highly insulated’ house in Stoer, in north west Scotland

The Edinburgh-based practice has built a two-bedroom home on a natural plateau in the Highlands.

Functions of the £320,000 house are split into two distinct volumes with a flexible living area in a timber clad double-height space with green oak trusses. A rendered single-storey wing contains the bedrooms.
