Feilden+Mawson completes Czech lakeside cabin

Feilden+Mawson’s Prague studio - FAM Architekti - has built this larch-clad holiday retreat in the Czech Republic

The 42m² wedge-shaped cabin stands on the footprint of a 1970s building, which it replaced, on the shore of Lake Machovo in Northern Bohemia.

Designed to take advantage of the lakeside views, the cabin is accessible through a large window opening that runs the length of the building’s principle room.

At the tall end of the wedge a sleeping gallery, which is accessed by a stepladder, sits above a compact kitchen, toilet and shower.
