Chp Arquitectos completes crisp Portuguese villa

[FIRST LOOK + PLANS] Chp Arquitectos have completed a four bedroom house in Belas, Portugal

Sat above a golf course and small eucalyptus forest the four-bedroom house consists of a group of five white volumes contected by interlinking passages.

Built on a steep site the building steps down slope the with the core of the house, which contains the entrance hall and living areas, split over two levels. From this central building passages lead to a lower kitchen and dining room to the east, and three bedroom pavilions to the north, south and west.

According to London-born Alfonso Fernandes, the managing partner of the Lisbon-based practice, the scheme was ‘based on the main aspects of traditional Portuguese architecture’ and paid ‘special attention to the balance and harmony’ between each of the blocks.
