[FIRST LOOK + PLANS] Andy Foster Architects has renovated a dilapidated outbuilding in Overton, north Wales

The Chester-based practice converted the former coach house of Llan y Cefn Hall into a garage, office, home cinema, table tennis room, snooker room and office. Three guest bedrooms are housed in the adjoining stableblock.

The original timber framed gable of the coach house has been preserved with a glazed screen to give the office with natural light and views over the garden.

Externally the outbuilding’s walls were repointed using traditional lime based mortar apart from one unsafe section of brickwork wall was replaced with reclaimed brick. The existing corrugated sheet roof has been replaced with reclaimed natural slate and rainwater pipes have been also been replaced with cast iron profiles to match the originals.
