Denton Corker Marshall wins planning for City office
[FIRST LOOK + PLANS] Denton Corker Marshall has won planning for a 9,300m2 office building in Farringdon, London
Replacing an existing nine-storey 1980s building, the new 12-storey scheme includes a new pub and office space.
The new building will increase the office space on the site by 60 per cent by maximising the development height.
The scheme is set to start on site in 2014.
The architect’s view
‘The design proposals incorporate floor to ceiling glazing around three sides of the building which flood the office areas with natural light and offer uninterrupted panoramic views of the City.
‘The building form sets back at the three topmost floors to create a series of external terraces. These are stepped on the east face and overlook Fleet Place, a pocket oasis of calm in this busy commercial area.’
