Second Humber Quays phase goes in for planning

Hull Citybuild has submitted an outline planning application for the second phase of its £170 million Humber Quays masterplan

The new phase of the development – which is being masterplanned by David Lock Associates – includes 20,650m2 of commercial office space, a waterfront restaurant, a 200-bed hotel and an extension to the flood wall along the estuary frontage.

John Holmes, chief executive at Hull Citybuild, said: 'As part of Hull's ambition to be a high-achieving city, there needs to be a good selection of high-quality office and residential accommodation to attract both existing and new investors, and phase two at Humber Quays will help maintain the current momentum.'

The first, completed stage of the development included two office buildings and a public plaza.

Subject to planning approval, it is estimated that construction of the essential site preparation and infrastructure works for phase two will begin in autumn next year.
