London-based ORMS has won the British Council of Offices' (BCO) Best of Best prize for its ISG headquarters scheme in Aldgate, London.

London-based architect ORMS has won the British Council of Offices' (BCO) Best of Best prize for its ISG headquarters scheme in Aldgate, London.
The single floor scheme in Aldgate House bagged the 'gold standard of excellence' award on Tuesday night after BCO judges described the building as 'all-round damn cool'.
The timber, glass and concrete building, which also landed the national and regional awards for its fit-out, creates one centralised work space that the judges said created an 'inhabited showroom' from the ISG workers.
The national prize for an outstanding corporate workplace went to Keppie Design for its Great Glen House in Inverness, a building which has achieved the highest ever BREEAM rating of 84 per cent.
The comercial strand of this year's BCO awards went to Lifschutz Davidson Sandiland for its Asticus scheme which was uilt on a site in Westminster so awkward it had remained undeveloped for 25 years.
Allies and Morrison's refurbishment of a pre-war aeronautical-weapons research centre, The Hub in Farnborough, received the national prize for a 'recycled/refurbished' workplace and Aldington Craig and Collinge's most recent development of the Lemsford  Mill Estate was recognised with the small project award.
The BCO chairman, Mark Whitby, described the selection of award winning projects as 'exceptional'  and recognised the  low-energy technologies they explored as 'destined to become mainstream in the near future'.
