The search is on for an architect-led team to design a new £2 million community library in Bentley, Walsall, West Midlands.
The competition, launched by the RIBA on behalf of Walsall Council, is calling for expressions of interest to create a flagship building at the centre of the redevelopment of Bentley that will form an 'urban heart' for the community.
The building will include a library and facilities for other potential service providers, while acting as a hub for community learning.
According to the council, the successful team will need to 'develop a high-quality design that can set a precedent for the future development and serve as a symbol of change'.
Six teams will be shortlisted from the initial expressions of interest, each receiving an honorarium of £4,500.
The closing date is 2pm Tuesday 6 November. For more information please visit www.architecture.com/competitions.
