Frank Gehry's dramatic Serpentine Pavilion opened last night (21 July) with a lively party.

Visitors took advantage of the warm summer evening to squeeze into the timber and glass pavilion in London's Hyde Park.

Steps on either side of the pavilion provided seating, while the two lookout towers on either side of the entrance provided good people-watching opportunities.

Gehry follows in the footsteps of Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, Álvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura, Oscar Niemeyer, and Daniel Libeskind, all of whom have designed and built pavilions for the gallery.
