See the house that was built overnight

We've all done all-nighters, but here's something completely different… These pictures from Sheffield-based art group No Fixed Abode and architects Amenity Space show the construction of their 'All Night House', as part of The Berlin Contemporary Art Festival. The house was knocked up by a team of enthusiastic volunteers in five hours between 10pm and 3am.

The Proposal
Was pretty much accurately realised, albeit with a dissapointing lack of dogs

And they're off...

Happily, Berlin has a good supply of arty-looking volunteers on hand to assemble the house.

Recyclable? Naturlich.

The 'palette' (arf!) of materials was made up of recyclable components

Safety First
This rather natty hi-vis belongs to 'No Fixed Abode', the Sheffield-based art collaborative responsible for the conception of the project.

Water, water everywhere...
But not a drop to drink? Not likely. Water bottles gave the structure some ballast

Nearly to deadline, the finishing touches go on

Ich bin fertig!
Just as dawn light starts to appear the structure is completed. Hurrah!
