London Festival of Architecture kicks off with bangers, Boris and giant furniture

More than 1,200 people squeezed into central London's Somerset House courtyard last night (19 June) to join Mayor Boris Johnson for the launch of the London Festival of Architecture.

The venue, dubbed 'London's Largest Living Room', featured giant wooden chairs and lamps designed by Studio Weave and Eley Kishimoto.

The event was a roaring success, with the champagne flowing freely and a solid line-up of Astragal-friendly canapes, including sausages and pizza.

Astragal thoroughly enjoyed lounging on the giant furniture, glass of champers in one hand, slice of pizza in the other, sun overhead, and the soothing sounds of Boris bumbling through his speech washing past his ears.
