HKR Architects has unveiled its £45 million plans to replace the Guardian newspaper building, in Farringdon Road, central London, with an office development.
The practice's London office has dubbed the nine-storey, 20,000m2 development, currently awaiting a planning decision, the 'Wave', claiming it will be 'ultra sustainable'.

The existing 1970s block will be flattened once the newspaper group moves into its new home – a Dixon Jones designed office in King's Cross – early next year.

John Maxwell, director of Farringdon Property, the developer behind the scheme said: 'This is an exciting time for the area. The Wave will act as a first-class example of best practice in new office design – right in the heart Farringdon, a uniquely creative and historic part of the city.'
