Herzog & de Meuron has revealed its revised stadium designs for Portsmouth FC.
The practice had originally wanted to build a horseshoe shaped scheme on the Hard – a docklands a site in central Portsmouth.

However in October last year the club decided to move its proposed new home to the 'less problematic' Horsea Island plot outside the city after the Royal Navy raised 'operational and security concerns' about the siting of the initial £600 million proposals (AJ online 29.10.07).
The new scheme features a 36,000-seat arena – which can double as a 10,000-seat concert venue as well as 'low-rise' waterside housing and a naval training facility.

Peter Storrie, the club's chief executive, said: 'We only have one word to describe this stadium. Perfection.
'The new stadium, along with plans for the club's new training ground at the Alver Valley in Gosport are proof of where we want Pompey to be – playing at the highest level and in a stadium befitting a top Premier League side.'
