A fire has ripped through the famous Berlin Philharmonie, designed by Hans Scharoun between 1960-1963.
Smoke was seen billowing out from beneath the distinctive yellow, tentlike roof of the building in the city's Tiergarten area.
More than 110 firefighters tackled the inferno, the latest in a series of devastating blazes to hit architectural gems around Europe following on from fires at BIQ's Bluecoat arts centre and at Delft Technical University's Faculty of Architecture last week.
Scharoun's masterpiece is currently home to the German capital's leading orchestra, directed by British conductor Simon Rattle.
