Fire rips through Delft School of Architecture

The Architecture Faculty at Delft Technical University was destroyed by a fire this morning. See footage here.

The faculty, which is the largest in the Netherlands counts Erick van Egeraat and Kees Christiaanse as its alumni, and also boasts Tony Fretton as a visiting professor.

It is believed the fire started due to a short-circuiting coffee machine on the sixth floor. The flames are understood to have destroyed collections by Rem Koolhaas and MVRDV.

No one is thought to have been injured by the flames, although the school is believed to be destroyed by the blaze.
